Harbor Safety Committee

The Committee is established pursuant to Section 8670.23 of the Government Code and Title 14, California Code of Regulations, Sections 800-802, and is responsible for planning for the safe navigation and operation of tank ships, tank barges, and other vessels within the harbor, and for making recommendations to the Administrator of the Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR). Area Maritime Safety Committee

The Port of Hueneme’s local AMSC (Area Maritime Security Committee) is part of the Central California Area Maritime Security Committee which reports on security topics including risks, mitigation strategies and methods, critical port infrastructure projects, port security grants and training and exercises. Coastal Trident

Since its inception in 2007, numerous exercises have been conducted and Coastal Trident has evolved into a regional maritime security and response program, enabled by operational evaluation of leading-edge technology systems, with participation by approximately 90 organizations and departments. Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)

The Port of Hueneme is prepared to assist its export shippers and customers with their obligations under Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations regarding Verified Gross Mass (VGM) of containers effective July 1, 2016. In effort to facilitate compliance the Port of Hueneme would like to inform its export customers that the following nearby location can assist with weighting containers via State of California certified scale and weight masters.
