Commercial Fishing

The Port is the primary support facility for an active commercial fishing industry. It is equipped with a purpose-built discharge and loading system, as well as an on-dock ice production facility for quick and efficient unloading, packing, and onward movement.

Home To California’s Thriving Squid Industry

Oxnard Unloading Services is a current customer offloading squid at the Port, then moving the product to packing houses in Oxnard and Central California for companies like Sun Coast Calamari, Monterey Fish Company and Southern Cal Seafood.

With nearly 40% of California’s total squid catch transiting the Port of Hueneme, our maritime gateway plays a significant role in the transportation to market.
