Austin joined the Port of Hueneme in 2014 with a strong background in finance & accounting management, budgeting, tax accounting and systems implementation.
He is a graduate of Han Yang University in South Korea and is a veteran of the South Korean Marine Corps. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Cal State Long Beach. He has been actively involved in finance and accounting for more than 15 years. He currently serves as the Director of Finance of the Oxnard Harbor District. He also is the Board appointed Deputy Treasurer, assisting the District Treasurer, Andrew Palomares.
Prior to joining the Port, he gained his professional experience from tax and audit, manufacturing, investment service, and automobile logistics industries. He worked for multi-national companies where he gained his knowledge on merger and acquisitions, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Austin holds a CPA license and member of various professional organizations such as American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Governmental Financial Officers Association (GFOA). He serves on the Board of Port Renovation, Inc. as well.
He has been a resident of Ventura County since 2008 with his wife.
