Chief Operations Officer

In December 2012, Christina Birdsey came aboard as the Director of Operations and Security for the Port of Hueneme, and in March 2017 she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer. She leads the operations team, which is comprised of the Harbormasters, Facilities and Maintenance, Environmental, Engineering, and Security departments. She oversees all uses of the Port property and coordinates with customers on cargo laydown, throughput, tariff, and regulations. She also oversees all infrastructure projects and associated grant funds, when applicable.

Mrs. Birdsey is a graduate from University of Southern California and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering. Prior to joining the Port, she worked with engineering companies as well as with maritime companies and gained experience setting up port operation contracts in multiple locations for the federal government. These unique experiences grew her expertise in port operations, as well as engineering and construction management.

She is a resident of Ventura County with her husband and two children and enjoys the ocean, riding horses, volunteering, and family time.
